At the GREAT Initiative we’ve partnered with the wonderful family run Bond Street jewellers, Boodles, to design a bracelet, beautiful enough to make your mouth water and set to become an iconic symbol of female friendship. The GREAT Boodles Bangle has unprecedented fundraising potential, with 100% of the profits going to support GREAT’s work.

The bangle, a symbol of being a Great woman, is a timeless piece that a man or a woman, individual or corporation, can give to a deserving woman they admire, respect and treasure. The bracelet both symbolizes and celebrates the woman that wears it for being a special woman, a great friend, a great mother, or a great philanthropist or activist for gender equality; and acknowledges the importance of achieving gender equality worldwide.

We may have hurdles to overcome in this country when it comes to equality but look further afield and the facts of life are horrifying. 1 in 5 women will be raped in their lifetime, 1 in four will be victims of domestic violence, two thirds of women make up the worlds illiterate and the great majority lack the basic human rights we take for granted.

At the GREAT Initiative we are committed to altering the status quo for the millions of women whose plight has been described as “the greatest human rights abuse of this century”. The money we raise supports small grassroots women’s projects and all important advocacy, amplifying the voices of capable but marginalised women across the globe and down the corridors of power.

The GREAT Initiative brings women together, empowering them through strengthening their communities and offering them support in the vital work they do. The GREAT Boodles Bangle extends this community and brings us all together, regardless of profession, postcode or ethnicity to celebrate women across the globe and make their voices heard.

Following the great success of the pilot phase we’ve been thrilled to find that demand for the bangle continues to grow. We are therefore now taking over direct management of the project alongside two pioneering enterprises, Ethical Goods and Gift Lab, which specialise in creating and marketing outstanding products for social change.
