All four Trustees of the Gender Rights & Equality Action trust today hosted a second lunch to introduce our GREAT Initiative to a small group of influential women that we feel are likely to find the project of interest, and perhaps support our programmes. Our first lunch took place on the 6th of December, and we really should thank Karen Ruimy for inviting us to her home for both occasions, and providing us with not just fabulous food and wine, but also her wonderful hospitality.
Over lunch we discussed our plans for the future; in particular our trip to Liberia at the end of March 2011, our launch event on 19th May 2011, and also the projects on the ground that we are seeking to instigate or fund - not least the FAS PanAfrican Centre for Gender, Peace and Development and our enhanced vision the FAS African Gender Awards.
It was very encouraging to see so much enthusiasm at both occasions but also interesting to listen to the comments and questions that came from all sides. To realise the breadth of our ambitions, The GREAT Initiative needs the support of such individuals. and we shall now make sure that we stay in contact with all of these women to further develop ideas and launch initiatives.
I would like to express my appreciation to all of those that have given of their time to find out more about the Gender Rights & Equality Action Trust.
