The GREAT Inititiative - Gender Right & Equality Trust

The existing FAS African Gender Award is truly amazing in that it focuses on an African leader who has significantly improved the lives of women in his or her own country.

But incredible things happen every day across all walks of life in Africa to redress gender imbalance: great work which occurs without the benefit of the world spotlight.

The GREAT Initiative’s aim, alongside FAS, is to work together to raise the profile of all of the singularly important initiatives by organisations, businesses, and individuals from all tiers of society - initiatives that have to date gone without acclaim - and to showcase these efforts in an expanded Awards event.
