The Forum

Taking place alongside the FAS African Gender Award, the Forum is a two-day event that provides a fantastic opportunity for women to discuss, consider and propose policy for gender issues in Africa. The Gender Rights & Equality Action Trust is proud to be able to contribute to this essential initiative.

A crucial mouthpiece

Its main objective is to bring together women from Africa and beyond to share experiences and lessons on important current issues from a multi-dimensional perspective which integrates gender, economic, social, and political discussions.

The Forum also aims to:

• Foster and contribute to the effective implementation of women’s international and African initiatives.
• Strengthen the communication and cooperation between participants from the public and economic spheres while instilling a culture of solidarity at a continental level.
• Allow African women’s networks to make their own assessment of their situation and to propose strategies for future action along with relevant facilitators and FAS partners.
